Clubs @ Queen Edith

At Queen Edith, we offer a range of extra curricular sports clubs. Some are run by school staff, while others are provided through Sport Premium funding, with parents asked to make donations to help extend the range of provision. 

Here are the clubs that will be running in the autumn term. A timetable of the clubs can be seen here.

KS1 Clubs:

Premier Soccer - Mondays (Lunchtime on the field)
Premier Dance - Mondays (Lunchtime in the small hall)
Gymnastics - Tuesdays (Lunchtime in the small hall)
Steve Fallon football - Wednesdays (3:30-4:30 on the field)
Drama - Thursday (Lunchtime in the small hall)
Tennis - Fridays (Lunchtime in the small hall)
Multiskills - Fridays (3:30-4:30pm in the small hall)

Mondays (3.30 - 4.30pm on the field)
Rounders - Tuesday (3.30 - 4.30pm on the field)
Country Dancing - Wednesdays (Lunchtime in the large hall)
Circus Skills - Wednesday (3.30 - 4.30pm in the small hall)

Korfball - Friday (Lunchtimes on the KS2 playground)

Netball - Wednesdays (after school on the KS2 playground)
Circus Skills - Wednesdays (3.30 - 4.30pm in the small hall)

Cricket - Thursdays (3.30 - 4.30pm on the field)
Korfball - Fridays (Lunchtime on KS2 playground)
 

HOUSE Korfball
Over the last 2 Fridays Year 6 have been competing in their HOUSE Korfball events.
Children from all houses have competed in a round robin style competition and displayed fantastic skills, team work and passion to see their team succeed.
Sports leaders showed amazing enthusiasm to support their peers, officiate and coach their team. With the fast pace of the game, they were able to demonstrate quick thinking, confidence with their decision making and fair play. It was a pleasure to watch and to see the children enjoying playing korfball! 

The combined results for Year 6 House Korfball were: 

1st         Centaurs
2nd     Pegasus and Griffin
4th         Phoenix

 

HOUSE Netball
Over the last 2 Fridays Year 6 have been competing in their HOUSE Netball events.
Children from all houses have competed in a round robin style competition and displayed good knowledge of the game, great team work and passion to see their team succeed.
Sports leaders showed amazing enthusiasm to support their peers, officiate and coach their team, with Ania and Lavinia really showing confident umpiring!
Children played in a variety of positions and showed a real 'have a go' attitude. It was a pleasure to watch and to see the children enjoying playing netball!

2nd        Pegasus and Griffin
4th            Phoenix

 

HOUSE Hockey
Over the last 2 Fridays Year 6 have been competing in their HOUSE Hockey events.
Children from all houses have competed in a round robin style competition and displayed fantastic enthusiasm, stick skills and team work to succeed.
Sports leaders showed good knowledge of the game, umpiring the game confidently, using the whistle. With lots a great tackling, a passing between the teams the scores were tight and the children showed fantastic determination to hit the ball into the goal. It was a pleasure to watch and to see the children enjoying playing hockey!

Korfball
Here are some Year 3/4 children enjoying their warm up games in Korfball club. I think Rehan was winning at this point in the game! Well done!

Tennis
